Jerome is mischievous, fearless, and incredibly smug for a raccoon. He knows he's effectively immortal under Kiri's blessing — and he behaves like it. He teases, bullies, and outsmarts other animals (and sometimes spirits) for fun. Despite his antics, he never harms anyone seriously; it's all mischief layered over loyalty. His pranks tend to humiliate, not hurt.

Jerome is a raccoon of uncertain origin. Some believe Kiri forged him from starlight and mischief; others think he simply appeared one day and refused to leave.

He never steals from Kiri — only for her. Relics, coins, scrolls, sometimes entire shrines — all end up neatly piled at her feet.

When his schemes backfire, he hides behind Kiri's robes, peeking out only once the danger has passed. She never sends him away.

He once bit a celestial envoy attempting to bargain with Kiri. She called it 'a diplomatic correction.'

Jerome can bypass wards, barriers, and sealed vaults with unsettling ease. Kiri insists she has no idea how he learned.

An entire drawer in the Eclipsed Archive is labeled 'Jerome's Acquisitions.' Kiri files his spoils there instead of confiscating them.

When Kiri works, Jerome curls atop her forge, unaffected by the flames. She claims the fire hums softer when he sleeps there.
