Appearance

Ilivrae bears the softest features of the Shae'Quarn line — silver-white braids, glowing red eyes, and skin of midnight hue marked by luminous runic tattoos. Her ceremonial robes weave crimson spiderweb patterns across black silk, while her staff glows faintly with amethyst light. She carries herself with calculated grace, balancing youthful curiosity with the elegance of her station.

Personality

Intelligent, introspective, and quietly conflicted. Ilivrae was once fiercely loyal to Lolth, but her sister's defection and later encounters with the Void left her faith fractured. She is often torn between duty and empathy, between tradition and self-understanding. Beneath her calm exterior lies a desire for reconciliation and peace that she once thought impossible.

History

Raised to serve as Lolth's next high priestess, Ilivrae's devotion was absolute until Lyzzoreth's betrayal shattered her worldview. She followed Tzylaen and Zaerion into the Grand Order of Necron, believing it would restore honor to their house. However, the corruption and devastation she witnessed within Necron's ranks slowly eroded her certainty. Through the intervention of Yuna Snowfall, leader of Sovereign Cove, Ilivrae came to see the futility of vengeance.

Synopsis

Ilivrae ultimately abandoned Persephone's army alongside her brother, Zaerion. Now serving under Sovereign Cove's banner, she works to heal and restore what the Necron Order destroyed — spiritually and physically. Though she remains haunted by her past, Ilivrae views her defection as atonement for both her sins and those of her fallen sister, Tzylaen.

Trivia

Keeps an old amulet belonging to Lyzzoreth but has never dared to return it.

Skilled in healing and restoration magic despite her dark heritage.

Known to hum old Underdark hymns that have long been banned by Lolth's clergy.

She retains the old prayer beads of Lolth but has replaced their spider icons with small amethyst crystals — symbols of change.

Ilivrae's staff, Thael'mar, contains a fragment of a soul she once failed to save.

When she heals, faint whispers echo around her.

Was once called 'The Silent Hymn' by Persephone for her unshakable calm even amid plague and ruin.

Though she rarely admits it, Ilivrae still lights a single candle for Tzylaen every new moon.

She communicates empathy through subtle gestures — placing a hand over her heart when words would fail.

Refuses to wear black since defecting from The Grand Army, preferring muted silvers and soft purples to symbolize rebirth.

Keeps a small preserved spider from her priestess days; she calls it 'Asha,' meaning 'atonement' in Deep Drow.

Her healing magic reacts to emotion rather than command — the stronger her compassion, the more powerful the effect.

Yuna Snowfall refers to her as 'the heart that refused to rot.'

Despite her defection, many Drow secretly pray to her as a saint of forgiveness — a quiet heresy that spreads in whispers.

Her favorite saying is, 'To forgive is not to forget — it is to stop becoming the wound itself.'
